An ode to the cuckoo bird and clock
“Koekoeksklok” is an ode to the cuckoo bird/clock and contains a story about the life of a cuckoo bird.
The story begins in the nest when the bird is born and ends at the gates of heaven. It is symbolic for the end of an era where we used to have physical clocks as functional but also decorative objects, in contrast with the modern digital clocks we have on our phones.
The clock is made out of pieces of massive walnut wood and lasercut stainless steel.
